Americans Abroad: Separate But (Not) Equal

I will be posting here a series of eight related videos which discuss the premise that the United States is imposing a separate and more punitive tax system on U.S. dual citizens who live in (and are tax residents of) other countries. The videos were motivated by recent posts by Toronto lawyer John Richardson and Dubai based Virginia La Torre Jeker, J.D.

This discussion took place on March 18, 2019. The two posts giving rise to the video discussions are: John Richardson – “The United States Imposes A Separate And More Punitive Tax on Dual Citizens Who Are Tax Residents Of Other Countries” and Virginia La Torre Jeker – “US Tax Law to American Abroad – “How Do I Hate Thee, Let Me Count the Ways

Joining John Richardson and Virginia La Torre Jeker in the discussion are Toronto based U.S. tax specialists:

Elena Hanson – Hanson Cross Border Tax

Peter MeGoudis – Trowbridge

All videos in the series can be accessed here .
